TEA2 Architects - Carriage House

This playful retreat is both a carriage house for a future main house and a future guest house. A garage on the first floor is accessed by the drive-thru. Guests enter at the base of the tower and climb the stair to the main living spaces on the second floor. Climbing further gets one to the observation room.
The main public spaces of Living, Kitchen and Dining are made intimate by carving out smaller spaces such as a deep window bay for eating. The recycled Douglas fir wraps the entire space and brings warmth and scale to the room.
